Lake Zurich, Illinois – From powertrain to airbags, mirror assemblies to seating, Smalley Retaining Rings and Wave Springs are used throughout the automotive industry, making it imperative to stay up with industry standards. The company recently won an upgraded certification for its processes – IATF 16949:2016.

“IATF 16949 certification takes a new approach to ensuring quality for our customers,” says Blanca Gerue, Smalley’s Quality Systems Manager. “With the implementation of an Automotive Quality Management System (AQMS), we audit the entire manufacturing process, focusing on continuous improvements and defect prevention. We look not only internally, but at the entire supply chain to reduce waste and variation.”

Quality is engrained in Smalley’s operations Gerue notes. “Our customers not only specify Smalley for this, but recognize us because of it. Smalley was recently awarded GM’s Supplier Excellence Award for the 5th consecutive year.”

All Smalley products are manufactured and certified to the highest standards across all industries including automotive, aerospace, and medical.
